How to solve the Error "E000FED1: A failure occurred querying the Writer status" in Symantec Backup Exec 2012?

What will you do, if you occur "E000FED1: A failure occurred querying the Writer status" error in your Symantec Backup Exec 2012 while backing up your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007?

It's simple. You can do two methods to solve this error.

Method 1,

Dismount and Mount all your Exchange Database from your Server and Re-run the Backup.
But this method is risky to do and I recommend you to choose Method 2.

Method 2,

Just Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service from Running Services in Your Microsoft Exchange Server.
Then run the Backup Job again and you will not see above error again.
Take note, all user connected to Exchange Server will be disconnect and prompt for username, password when you restart the service.
But don't worry, ask them to key in their credentials. Exchange Server and Mailbox will be connected then.

May you all be happy

How to reboot Cisco Router and Switch remotely with schedule?

If you are the one who usually have to manage your Router and Switch in your Network remotely, you must know how to reboot those with schedule.

Why you must know these?

It's simple. Because you definitely will loose your remote connection if you wrongly modify Access-List or Routing or something that related with Internet Connection.

So, you should run below command in your router or swich global configuration mode before you make any changes.

Router(config)#reload in 5
Reload scheduled in 5 minutes
Proceed with reload? [confirm] yes

reload means asking router to reboot.

in 5 means to reboot the router in next 5 minutes.

May you all be happy.

How to solve Naviswoks Network License unable to get from network in VPN connection?

If your user from remote site office report you that they cannot user their Navisworks with VPN connection and faced with below error, you can settle with the solution mentioned in following.

"A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager.

Error [1.5.-15]"

"A valid license could not be obtained by the network license manager.

Error [1.5.-18]"

1) Right-click My Computer. Click Properties.
(for Vista and Windows 7, click the "Advanced system settings" link.)
2) In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
3) On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
4) In the Environment Variables dialog box, under System Variables, click New.
5) In the New User Variable dialog box, enter FLEXLM_TIMEOUT for the name and 10000000 for the value.
6) Click OK to close each dialog box.
7) Launch the Navisworks application.

If you are able to obtain a license, the value of 1000000 microseconds (1 second) is sufficient. If you still cannot obtain a license, repeat the procedure; increasing the value in 1000000 microsecond increments until you are able to obtain a license from the license server.

Although I only talk about Navisworks in this post, you still can use above solution method for other Autodesk Application as well.

May you all be happy.
